Shoes Craze
I need help. I have been day-dreaming about shoes everyday recently. You know, the act of just sitting there, pretending to pay attention or work with all these shoes running across in your mind. Does not matter if they are like 3 1/2 inches tall, you can still run in them. I have counted the grand total number of shoes that I have at the moment. No less than 30 pairs! But only about 8 pairs are effectively in use. The rest, I am sorry, you are either forgotten or already non-existent in my mind and tucked under boxes and boxes of other shoes.
And yet, here I am salivating over shoes in the boutiques. Went on a shooping spee with my mother yesterday. Not too wise a move, considering that my mum has absolutely no control on what and how much she spends. The damage? A $400 eye cream from La Prairie for myself. Well, the thing was that after spending such an amount on eyecream, I thought that I would cease any spending for money. But hell, no. I was sucked by an unformiable force into the Nine West boutique and the shoe corner at Tangs, no, not the tangerine (studio in-house brand) but the Tang Co. I was strucked there and it didn't help that mum was strucked there too. What was worse is that they have shoes in my size ( I am a size 40). Bloody hell, no, don't do this to me.
I resisted and fought like nobody business. Echoed from mum , wah this pair very nice, priced lower than expected. I stared at my feet and tore my hair out (but if you know me, you know that I was tearing inside but outside I remained cool to the bone). I walked out of the shops with heartaches, not because I bought too many but simply because I am walking away from all the fab shoes. I messaged another shoes craze and made an appointment with her to shop for shoes next weekend. Hopefully by then my heart will stop fluttering the moment I think of shoes. I am in love. with shoes. Well, i do learn something from this though.
Never go for shoes shopping with nice pedicured feet. Because everything will look nice and making you want to buy everything. Most of the time I was actually thinking wah my nails so nice, nicer than hers, I will look better in this pair than she will. In fact the marketer in me think that shoes shop should have a pedicure section within it. Or a tie-up with pedicure shops.
I told a friend some years ago, how come shoes always look more comfortable on other other feet? Like other boyfriends always appear to be better than ours. Do that still stand? I don't know leh, mainly because I am only dreaming up of boyfriends, no physical samples to prove my theory lei.
I had lived past the Charles and Keith shoes craze. No more C&K for me anymore. CK is the standard. 3 1/2 inches but still can run! No pain, no tears, no corns.
Let me feed you. With my feet.
